Complete Hand Rankings
Knowing the hand rankings is the foundation of Teen Patti. This cheat sheet covers every possible hand from strongest to weakest, with examples and probability of being dealt each hand.
1. Trail / Trio / Set
What it is: Three cards of the same rank.
Example: A♥-A♠-A♦ (Trail of Aces — highest), 2♣-2♥-2♦ (Trail of Twos — lowest trail)
Probability: 0.24% (roughly 1 in 425 hands)
Ranking within trails: A-A-A > K-K-K > Q-Q-Q > J-J-J > ... > 2-2-2
2. Pure Sequence (Straight Flush)
What it is: Three consecutive cards of the same suit.
Example: A♥-K♥-Q♥ (highest), 4♠-3♠-2♠ (lowest)
Probability: 0.22% (roughly 1 in 460 hands)
Special: A-2-3 of one suit is the HIGHEST pure sequence (not A-K-Q). The sequence wraps around.
3. Sequence (Straight / Run)
What it is: Three consecutive cards of different suits.
Example: A♥-K♠-Q♦, 7♣-8♥-9♦
Probability: 3.26% (roughly 1 in 31 hands)
Special: A-2-3 is the highest sequence, followed by A-K-Q, K-Q-J, and so on down to 4-3-2.
4. Colour (Flush)
What it is: Three cards of the same suit, not in sequence.
Example: A♥-J♥-7♥, K♠-9♠-3♠
Probability: 4.96% (roughly 1 in 20 hands)
Comparison: Compare highest card first, then second, then third. A♥-K♥-4♥ beats A♥-Q♥-J♥ because K > Q.
5. Pair
What it is: Two cards of the same rank, plus one different card.
Example: A♥-A♠-K♦ (highest pair), 2♣-2♥-3♦
Probability: 16.94% (roughly 1 in 6 hands)
Comparison: Higher pair wins. If pairs are equal, the kicker (third card) decides. A-A-K beats A-A-Q.
6. High Card
What it is: Three cards with no combination — not a pair, not a sequence, not same suit.
Example: A♥-K♦-J♣ (best high card), 5♣-3♥-2♦
Probability: 74.39% (roughly 3 in 4 hands)
Comparison: Highest card wins. If tied, compare second card, then third. A-K-J beats A-K-10.

FAQ
Trail of Aces (A-A-A) is the highest possible hand in Teen Patti, followed by A-K-Q Pure Sequence of the same suit.
Yes, and it is actually the HIGHEST sequence in Teen Patti — higher than A-K-Q. This is a unique rule that differs from standard poker.
High Card (no pair, no sequence, no flush) is by far the most common, appearing in about 74% of all hands dealt.
Suits matter for Colour (flush) and Pure Sequence hands. For Trails, Sequences, Pairs, and High Cards, suits do not affect the ranking. If two players have identical hands of different suits, it is a tie.
